About Valor Home


Valor Home is a therapuetic housing program of Family & Community

Services that offers supportive housing for homeless and at-risk veterans. Valor Home is a veteran specific program of Family & Community Services. Family & Community Services began developing veteran specific programming in 2005 when Freedom House of Portage County was established.

Since then, Family & Community Services have served hundreds of homeless veterans in locations that span four counties in Northeastern Ohio: Lorain, Portage, Summit, and Trumbull. F&CS currently operate the following veteran programs:

 

 

  • Freedom House (Kent, OH)
  • White House of Portage County (Ravenna, OH)
  • Miss Liberty House (Ravenna, OH)
  • Supportive Services for Veteran Families (Akron, OH)
  • Carroll St. Residence of Summit County (Akron, OH)
  • Valor Home of Summit County (Akron, OH)
  • Valor Home of Lorain County (Lorain, OH)
  • Veteran's Haven of Trumbull County (Warren, OH)

All Valor Home programs are certified by the Council of Accreditation and include three Department of Veterans’ Affairs Grant and Per Diem programs. Valor Home programs also include supportive permanent housing for male and female veterans, holistic therapeutic programming and award-nominated job training programs for homeless and at risk veterans.
